That Picture of Me in My Bikini
February 21, 2008 by Vienna
My husband was surprised to see that I posted a picture of me in my bikini. All the while he thought that I am not comfortable about something like that. Well I thought so too but I guess it’s not a big deal.
I remember it was really a big thing for me to wear a pair of bikini in public (public meaning if there is more than 1 stranger around). I remember how it was when we went to Malaysia last year. I didn’t go out to the beach in my bikini until hearing Marcus’ long talk about how it is perfectly fine to swim in the beach in bikinis and how people wouldn’t care. It was after a long cajoling before I got myself to wear bikinis. And look at that, a year later—I don’t care anymore.
Marcus is right. It is not a big deal unless you make it into a big deal. If you walk around in bikinis (like 99% of the women in the beach) in beaches like it is the most natural thing in the world (nowadays it is) then nobody would care but if you act all weird then people will stare.
And oh by the way, the pair of bikini in the picture is courtesy of my mom. It was hand crochet by her. She made it especially for me. Look at that! She’s not conservative in fact, she wishes she can wear the bikinis herself.
Agreed.
In Hawaii, it’s uncommon for 300+ lb ladies to wear bikinis on the beach and nobody thinks twice about it.
It’s all about confidence, and that picture of you is adorable and pretty. You look happy
